    The Laboratory’s principal areas of expertise are in the testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry & aggregate materials,  storm water and related materials. We also perform  vibration Monitoring, foundation  investigations, pile monitoring and inspections We also maintain a full-time environmental staff for environmental site assessments, SBA 504 and SBA-7a Assessments as well as asbestos, lead paint and mold assessments and inspections.

    The lab maintains all of the necessary equipment to perform specified quality control testing that encompasses each phase of our operation.

    The lab maintains and archives all of the current AASHTO, ASTM, Georgia and South Carolina Testing Specifications.

    Our facilities are inspected, certified or approved  by the following agencies:

• AASHTO (AMRL / CCRL) 

• US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS

• GEORGIA DOT

• SOUTH CAROLINA DOT

• GSFIC (Special Inspections)

• ACI & GA CONCRETE PRODUCTS ASSOCIATION

• ICC CERTIFIED FOR ALL CHAPTER 17 INSPECTIONS

    To ensure efficiency and accuracy of all of our testing services, we maintain three professional engineers on our staff as well as a number of professional consultants with construction, geological and environmental certification and experience. 

    Whitaker Laboratory, Inc. personnel takes pride in utilizing our knowledge and experience to provide our clients with the most economical technically sound recommendations.

    Finally, all of our laboratory technicians are exposed to extensive training, possess experience in our field and participate in continuing education and  professional licensing yearly. We continue to accumulate invaluable knowledge and experience with area development; local county, state and federal requirements, allowing us to offer expert opinion with regard to coastal plain geologic formations and their effects on shallow and deep foundation system performance as well as industry standard construction techniques and cutting edge material resources.
