About Us

Established in 1970 by Joe Whitaker, Whitaker Laboratory’s early days focused primarily on testing asphalt on state highways and city streets as Savannah expanded to the suburbs.

Over forty years later, our services have expanded to every phase of construction method and their respective quality control testing in South Georgia and the South Carolina lowcountry.

To ensure efficiency and accuracy of our testing services, we maintain:

  • 3 professional engineers on staff
  • Over 10 professional consultants with construction, geological and environmental certification and experience.
  • Accredited laboratory technicians with annual licensing and continuing education.
I would like to take the opportunity to commend you and your staff for the thoroughness of your inspection services on this project, both for NPDES and for Special Inspections services. Your business is run in a truly professional manner, while you readily offered personalized attention to our specific needs. Whitaker Lab consistently provided a highly skilled labor force for every phase of on-site testing services and management, and your office staff could not have been more pleasant to work with. This project will always be considered a success for our firm, and we appreciate your help in achieving that. We will gladly recommend your company to any potential client in need of construction testing services. Please call us if we can team with you on any future projects.
